The transformation of an auto repair shop into a true learning center for Chinese culture is no small task. During the three months prior to the opening of the Academy, renovation projects included spackling and repainting the walls, replacing the floors, hanging large wooden doors, building a shrine and more. The Chinese furniture and carved wood in the facility was graciously provided by members of the Asian community. 100% of the labor was provided by SHMKF students. While smaller renovation projects continue, we are very proud of what the Academy offers today.
